Special Announcement: CultureSource Acquires EmcArts We are excited to share that after assessing the evolution of our organizations and opportunities to be of the highest and best service to the cultural sector, we have agreed to CultureSource’s acquisition of EmcArts. Approved unanimously by both organizations’ boards of directors, EmcArts will dissolve and transfer its assets to CultureSource, which will then take the reins in deepening and expanding the work of helping people through the arts ecosystem build adaptive capacities, make change, and innovate iteratively, beginning July 2022. Learn More → Richard Evans: In Memoriam We are sad to share that EmcArts co-founder and long-time president Richard Evans has died. Richard passed away at his home in southwest France on Saturday, April 23, 2022 after battling an aggressive cancer. Meet the Team → Our Future We have near- and long-term plans for the integration of EmcArts into the work of CultureSource. PHASE 1: Continue Offering Current EmcArts Programs Building Adaptive Capacity: Interactive workshops to introduce adaptive change-making. The 10 two-hour workshops engage a cohort of arts or community organizations in strengthening the ‘muscles’ needed for adaptive re-imagining, beyond immediate relief support. Rehearsing Adaptive Change: For single organizations that are ready to begin practical adaptive work and embark on a major adaptive initiative, this program is the place to start. It is a series of linked opportunities to embrace community perspectives on adaptive re-imagining of the organization. First, through an experimentation team sessions of internal and external stakeholders. Second, via network perspectives sessions. And finally, through action research. New Pathways to Resilience: Webinar series for individuals of any affiliation. A great way for leaders to rapidly engage about adaptive change in response to complex challenges, and proven ways to succeed in adaptive work. Adaptive Leadership Courses: Practical training for the next wave of nonprofit change-makers. Serious professional development is hard to find in the nonprofit sector, outside of technical training and the ALACI program offers an extended engagement in the practice of adaptive leadership, including group seminars and 6 hours of 1-on-1 executive coaching for participants. PHASE 2: Adapt Programs to Contemporary, Subject-Specific Initiatives We are developing new programs related to the following: Tech and Arts Arts Education Covid Relief Cultural Planning Higher Education PHASE 3: Full Integration In the long-term, CultureSource and its partners will engage in visioning and program development work to imagine the full integration of EmcArts work into its programs and services.
